What would it take for you to get to work sans car? A little extra planning and coordination? How about some external motivation and support from a team?
Join the Carless Commute TEAM challenge and earn reward points for finding alternative transportation to and from work. Best part about it? This challenge allows you to work together with a team of your friends and coworkers to earn big.
By the end of the challenge, your self selected team of 4-12 members must track at least 50 carless commutes to earn 500 Health Quest points. So, what counts? Telecommuting, any public transportation (bus, train or ferry) and any self-powered transportation (bicycle, walking or running).
Here's how team challenges work:
- Teams must consist of 4-12 members. Teams will not be eligible for any reward points until there are at least 4 members. Once teams reach 12 members, they are closed to other users. Whether there are 4 or 12 members on your team, the goal is still 50 commutes. Recruit team members to work together and win faster!
- Be a team captain: start your own team by creating and naming a new team. Invite specific friends and coworkers by entering the username or email address associated with their wellness account.
- Join an existing team: in the Leaderboard (on the right hand side of this page) you can click on any team to join. Teams that have an exclamation mark by their name do not yet have 4 members (and will probably be very happy to have you!).
- Each member will record their carless commutes each time they log on. Commutes are cumulatively tallied and once your team reaches the 50-mark, each member will be awarded the reward points.

If it's just you in the car, commuting could be costing you a fortune. Calculate much how you spend.
Get to work WITH your team! Walking or running into the office might be a lot more enjoyable if you aren't hoofing it alone.
